Inadequacy

Inadequacy explores expressions of subtle emotional disruptions through simple geometric shaped blown glass sculptures with their inner membranes. The hollow glass sculpture is a metaphor of a human body/mind, in the action of making, I push and poke on soft and hot glass surfaces creating random patterns inside of the glass membranes. The gesture of making process represents slight discomforts and moments of disruptions that are easily dismissed in our daily life, however it echos around once we realize them.

「Inadequacy」は、不充分さや満たされなさを意味する言葉。中空のガラスは、私たちの体や心のメタファーである。制作の過程では、熱くやわらかいガラスの表面を金属の道具や針で内側に押し込むことで、幾何学的かつ対称的な内部に様々なテクスチャーを生み出す。この行為を通して一度意識すると無視できなくなるような、日常に潜むささいな違和感を掘り下げる。
