Solo Exhibition at te to ba Art Museum, Nagasaki, Goto Islands

In Between, I focus on the relationships that emerge in the spaces between words, between people, and between objects and their surrounding environments, exploring these through glass as a medium.

As part of an artist-in-residence program, I stayed on Fukue Island, where I encountered not only the natural landscape of the Goto Islands but also the memories embedded in the lives of the people who have lived there. This exhibition is positioned as part of an ongoing process leading toward a solo exhibition planned for 2027, with a period of production in Kanazawa in between.

It reflects the shift between my thoughts before visiting Goto and the changes that arose from physically inhabiting the place. Through the exhibition space as a whole, I sought to evoke the quietly transforming sense of “between-ness” (aida), allowing viewers to experience this transitional state.

「Between」では、言葉と言葉のあいだ、人と人のあいだ、そして空間とのあいだに生まれる関係性に着目し、ガラス作品による表現を試みた。

またアーティスト・イン・レジデンスとして福江島に滞在し、五島の自然はもちろん島に刻まれた人々の記憶を学び取った。本展は金沢での制作期間を挟み、2027年に予定されている個展へとつながるプロセスの一部として位置づけられる。
五島を訪れる以前の思索と、実際に土地に身を置いた後に生まれていく変化。静かに移ろう「間（あいだ）」の感覚を、展示空間全体を通して体感させることを意図した。
